Brinkman steps into the leadership position at 31st Union following the dismissal of previous head Michael Condrey, who was removed from his post due to the game's lackluster unveiling last fall.

Recently, 2K president a key figure notified staff about this decision through an official communication, which stressed that playtesting had indicated the need for a distinct vision.

The president stated that the team is now overhauling Project Ethos with a revised focus, aiming to better meet player expectations.

This announcement mirrors a similar move taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they brought on Rod Fergusson from Blizzard to work on the BioShock studio Cloud Chamber.

Brinkman currently holds the role of executive producer and head of production at Respawn Entertainment for their flagship title. He previously worked at Treyarch and Activision in various production roles on the Call of Duty games, and, earlier in his career, had assignments at 2K and Electronic Arts.

Project Ethos was unveiled in last year together with a community playtest. Initially, 31st Union presented the title as a "no-cost, 3rd-person action-packed experience and an thrilling advancement on the style."
